What Visitors Say

Perfect in every way!

Jenny and Jeff are far and away as gracious a host as you will have the joy to meet. They saved us when we were stuck on Marsh Harbor after a very late flight. Having the marina at the end of the path assured us that before each days adventure we knew the weather and details of the area we were heading. That being said we still felt totally secluded! Very private at the southern tip of the island. (South Cottage)You are really getting a private island, and for my husband and I on our 25th wedding anniversary this was exactly what we were looking for. Having a boat is essential and being able to dock it in your back yard makes it so easy to come and go. You can tell someone had lived in this little cottage for a long time, adding and building and making it perfect to live comfortably with many places to sit and take in the view. Not having a/c was never an issue. The breeze coming from the south/east kept us very comfortable. We did leave each day around 10 am then returned around 5, so we were gone exploring during the heat of the day. Each day was an adventure! We visited all the islands and snorkeled all the reefs. We hit all the hot spots, so to speak. Just south and east is Abaco Inn, go there and have a bushwacker and fantastic view of the Atlantic. Meat is very expensive so we brought in frozen meat in our carry on. We cooked our suppers at the house and had relaxing evenings, taking dips off the dock and watching the sun sets. There's nothing I would change about this little spot, and if I ever return to this area of the Bahamas I will most certainly stay here again. I can't imagine a better place. (and I have NEVER said this about any other rental I've stayed in my life and there have been plenty)

Great Way to Relax and Unwind

This review is a long time coming, how quickly real life gets in the way upon your return. We stayed at Parrot perch, and from the time we arrived to the time we left, it was truly magical. The small island was extremely well planned, though there were the owners homes and another cottage we truly felt alone, yet always felt reassured that if we had issues there were others around - and no issues here. We enjoyed our morning coffee with a beautiful view of the Hopetown lighthouse, and each sunset on the deck on the other side of the cottage. The owners were professional and friendly. We rented a whaler for our stay and had wonderful day trips here and there. As it snows here today, I can't help but think back to the most restful and perfect vacation we have ever had.

Little Taste Of Heaven

This was our first trip to the Bahamas and we rented this wonderful place sight unseen. The cottage and island far exceeded our expectations. We were met by the owner at the public dock and he quickly helped us settle into the private parrot perch cottage. It was private, had a rustic setting but didn't feel rustic at all, and had a gorgeous view. We felt like we hit the jackpot. The place was immaculate and everything and anything we could possibly need was available. The caretakers Jenny and Jeff were always available and very patient with our newbie questions. We loved the breeze the flowed through the cottage and the sound of the ocean at night. We will be back to visit again soon. Counting the days.

Best vacation spot in the world

These cottages must have invented feng shui. My husband and I booked a week after Christmas for some R&R because we love Hopetown but were surprised to find this little piece of heaven called Parrot Cay just minutes away. The Parrot Perch cottage was perfect for the two of us. Views from every room, cool breezes, lovely nautical feel and outstanding hospitality from the owners and operators. They are there for you but leave you alone if that's what you want. Perfect -- at least for us -- in every way. Caveat, however: you should enjoy boats, snorkeling, cooking for yourself on holiday, quiet time (no TV or streaming movies on the Internet--how lovely!)

Little Piece of Paradise

We just spent a wonderful week at Parrot Perch. The on-line pictures don't do justice to the charm of this traditional Bahamian cottage. It's wide open to nature on all sides -- almost like living on a covered deck. We had been concerned about mosquitoes, but we never even saw one. What we did see in abundance was birds (Banana Birds occasionally would flit through the cottage), butterflies, and "curly tails," a type of small iguana. There was no need for air conditioning. Parrot Perch has a large patio overlooking the Sea of Abaco where we enjoyed beautiful sunsets every night. When that side of the cottage was too sunny, we sat on the terrace on the east side, surrounded by lush tropical foliage. The place is completely private. Furnishings are simple and very comfortable, and the cottage was spotlessly clean. When we rent a place, we actually cook, and Parrot Perch's kitchen is well furnished with everything we needed. There are grocery stores in Hope Town, no problem there. For those who want to eat out, restaurants are a short boat ride away. Wechose the 17-ft Boston Whaler as our vehicle. It took us into Hope Town in a couple of minutes, and to beautiful beaches and coral reefs in under half an hour. We didn't have a private dock, but the dock for our Whaler was only 100 yards away. We also swam every day at our private stone beach a few steps down from the cottage. The owners live on the island (but out of sight!) and could not have been more friendly and helpful. We will definitely return to this lovely place and recommend it to nature lovers everywhere.

Legendary

I came to Parrot Cay with concerns about "spartan conditions" and the possibility of insects with no screens on windows--instead I found Paradise. This is the most perfect place I have ever been. No problems whatsoever--1st class accomodations in a natural setting. Incredibly nice people who own/run the place. Legendary. I honestly would not change a thing. I'll be returning here as often as I can for as long as they will have me. Absolutely delightful.

Quiet piece of paradise

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and it couldn't have been more perfect. We got married in Key Largo and were looking for a place for our honeymoon that would be off the beaten path but without lacking in charm or amenities. We fell absolutely in love with the South Cottage and were so sad to leave. It is rich with character but also immaculate and perfect for a get away in paradise. The kitchen and house were very well-equipped and we didn't need a thing aside from food and cocktail fixin's. We also loved the Albury we got with it, and it was perfect for zipping around the Cays and Hope Town was less than 5 minutes away which was great. We come from the PNW so we are sad it would be so hard to come back in the future, but certainly hope to!
